Revit Structure 2012: Two New Features to Support Creation of Shop Drawings!

Thank you for visiting Ideate’s blog to check out the new features added to Autodesk Revit Structure 2012. My name is Shruti Harve. Listed below are the two new features that I think will facilitate the creation of Shop drawings in Revit Structure 2012:
1. Annotations can now be added in 3D views:
3D views can now be locked and annotations: i.e. text, tags, dimensions and keynotes can be added in them.

2. Assemblies and Assembly Views:

With the introduction of this feature, users will now be able to track and schedule a collection of elements as a single element. For example a pre-cast column made of multiple families including rebar, mounting hardware, and corbels can now be selected and assembled so that they are isolated to be scheduled and tagged, and revit can create assembly views for them thereby facilitating the creation of shop drawings.

Don’t forget to look through other great features our Ideate Technical Team has found in the new 2012 releases for AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Civil 3D, Navisworks and more: ideateinc.com/2012
