Ideate Tech Experts to Present at #AU2010

Do you use Revit and need to collaborate with someone working in Navisworks? Know that there is great collaboration potential between AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, but not sure how it really works?

Join our own Ron Palma, AEC Solutions Application Specialist, for his popular presentation There is No "I" in Team at #AU2010. Ron will be joined this year by Lana Gochenauer, LEED AP, MEP Solutions Application Specialist.

Class Audience
Architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, MEP engineers, project managers, CAD managers, designers, and drafters

Class Description
This class focuses on common issues that arise among building disciplines when collaborating to form a Revit building information model using different software, such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Ecotect, Navisworks and Revit. Topics such as importing the site design, orienting the building, and sharing coordinates within a multidisciplinary team will be discussed. Additionally, working with other software programs requires the Revit model to be prepared differently. The preparation of the Revit model for use in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Green Building Studio, Ecotect, and Autodesk Navisworks will be demonstrated.

Key Learning
  • Importing site design into Revit
  • Orienting the building in Revit
  • Working with shared coordinates< li>Preparing the Revit model for use with Autodesk Revit MEP and Structure
